The objective of this article is to analyze the concept of hybrid warfare and the way of conducting this type of warfare, in order to destabilize a state by provoking the polarization of society. The interpretative hermeneutic method was used for this research. It is a subject that is confused with several concepts already used in the military sciences, such as, for example, fourth generation warfare, composite warfare, asymmetric conflicts, revolution in military affairs, unconventional warfare, nonlinear warfare, gray wars, among others. There are also authors who point out that it is not a new concept either. Therefore, it is a subject that is not unanimous and is still under construction. In summary, hybrid warfare represents a significant challenge for global security in the 21st century. The combination of conventional and irregular tactics, together with influence operations, creates a complex and dynamic conflict environment.
