Electronic Warfare and Swarming in the Israel-Hamas Conflict: The Impact of Technological Superiority

The article reviews the integration of advanced electronic warfare (EW) technologies and swarming tactics in the Israel-Hamas conflict, focusing on Operation Shield of the North (2023) and Operation Sword of David (2024). It evaluates how these technologies have been employed to gain strategic advantages on the battlefield. Israel has achieved technological superiority by leveraging the synergy between EW and swarming to neutralize Hamas defenses and conduct precise strikes. Despite limited resources, Hamas has demonstrated adaptation through asymmetric tactics and electronic countermeasures. The analysis highlights the importance of electromagnetic spectrum dominance and the integration of autonomous platforms in future conflicts. It concludes with the need to strengthen EW capabilities and enhance interoperability in joint operations, providing a foundation for future research and technological advancements in defense.
